Travis, I'm thinking you're asking how much I cropped?
If so I was close, filled the frame with approx 50% with the bird.....using the blind out back.

yes, I was asking if you cropped at all, or if that is what the full file looked like.

I know the feeling, I went through this exercise a year or two ago, sold off yongnuo's, got two of the hotshoe flashes (full sized ones) for a very low price, and the 600. They're a pleasure to work with and inexpensive. Added the TT350 a month ago, and it's fantastic. I also have a continuous light setup that amazon sent me by mistake, and didnt want to be shipped back :-P

those flash holders are really nice, hated the hotshoe style holders of the past.

Yeah it’s a breath of fresh air compared to what I have been used to in the past. The ability to control the 3 flashes from the trigger on the camera is brilliant. The Bowens holders are a joy to use too. I’ve also got a softbox that’s not in the photo and I bought a background stand which came with white, black and green backgrounds. I need to buy 2 additional light stands though as I forgot I only had 1. Final thing I need is a bean bag for when the baby arrives but already picked up a butterfly pillow.

I’ve got so many ideas I want to try out from food, to beer, to whisky, smoke, coffee and all sorts of other product type stuff in addition to the newborn photos I want to take. I feel like this has re-sparked my interest in shooting again

.......

If you were in the U.S. I'd offer up my Lastolite Baby Poser your way, but shipping would likely not make it worthwhile.

A funny post on SAR, a user figures a way to get rid of the EVF

https://www.sonyalpharumors.com …ihtout-evf/#disqus_thread (external link)

Since I hardly ever use the EVF, I would totally consider this mod ;-)a

it would need to have the hotshoe installed back in somehow, but an EVF free camera, I'de be ok with.

I actually really like this idea. It reminds me of the Fuji X70 which doesnt have an EVF either (or an OVF). With the X70 though I kept raising it to my eye! and in the end opted for the x100 series instead for that reason. It was harder to get used to than I thought it would be

A very short video of the moon from Oct 12, 2017. The camera was the Sony a6500 and the lens used was the Sony FE 100-400GM + 2x extender for an apparent focal length of 1200mm. The video was shot in 4K and cropped to HD prior to rendering.

I'm surprised at the degree of shimmering caused by the atmosphere

Sign me up. :)

I would need to get some GM lenses though.

TRhoads wrote in post #18471004 (external link)
it very well could have been the lens he was using then...the colors of the race cars were just muted and flat...when I get home I will post one...

I am down...I have friends in town that will always go for a visit...I don't mind being a second...its the prime job I don't want!

I need someone in March of next year and October of next year. PM me if you guys are interested!

Second shooter is a pretty primo job....all of the fun of shooting without any of the pressure. Plus they can take more creative risks whereas I'm more concerned with getting the key shots.
