Sometimes my 85GM is acting up. I was not able to use on today’s shoot.

It seems that the contact has a problem. It’s not showing my F number. Just F.., not focusing as well.

Has anyone experience this?

I tried to clean the contact. It’s not helping. Tried on the A6000 too, same problem.

Update: I had to twist it hard once, and now it's working. weird. i tried to remove and mount it slowly, F number appears everytime now. i hate it when it's acting up especially that i have a wedding tomorrow. good thing i have a backup lens for tomorrow my friend loan me his 70-200F4.

Awesome Gene! I'll have to copy you in that someday.

Thanks. Once I figured out how to convert the video to AVI and select just a few frames, I also did my first stacking using RegiStax 6.

I have had this issue with adapted lenses, I think it is a weight issue.

I had the same issue with the batis 85. Sent it to zeiss...not sure what they did but when it came back the mount was really tight so I suspect it had something to do with the contacts not making a good connection with the body. You can also try cleaning the contacts

thanks for confirming this issue. i tried to cleaned the contact but it didn't help. After a bit harder twist once, it works again. Then I tried to unmount and mount it 3 times(slow this time), it works again every time. i hope it won't give me the same problem again because it's already out of warranty.

I needed a break from birds and landscapes :)
I was up at the 'hawk station' and noticed a swarm of these guys going after
bits of left over chicken....this one didn't quite volunteer for imaging :(

This is an amazing image.

The macro detail combined with the perfect bokeh really blows me away.

So... you guys know about GreenToe, right?

Well I just got this email from them:

Sony A7R II - $2200 (lowest price online $2898) - Save $698!
Sony A9 - $3900 (lowest price online $4498) - Save $598!

I've been considering trading my 6D in for the A7R II.
Canon lenses work just ok on my a6300. What's everyone's experience with them on the A7RII?

Thanks...

those are great prices for USA models. I've used them before, got the 12-24G new for less than what they're currently selling used for in the forums. Got the sigma 135A for a decent discount. I was quoted a major discount for the 70-200 GM, but I decided against the weight/size.

GT has been great

I just took delivery of the 12-24 loaner from Lens Rentals/Sony Professional Services.

Wow this thing is pretty small and really light. Nice set-up to throw in a bag and head out and shoot. Definitely not a burden like the Sigma 12-24.
