Your lens looks MASSIVE compared to your camera body!!! :-)

The camera is pretty small, that's one of the things I like about it, it's size. The Sony 100-400 lens is about the same size as the Canon 100-400L.

I also have the Sony a7rII with its full frame 42mp sensor. The a6500 has a 1.5 crop, 24mp sensor. Both of these mirrorless cameras can share the same batteries and lenses and one great feature for photographing the moon...or anything else for that matter is that since the viewfinder and LCD are both monitors, I can set it up so that as I change the aperture/shutter speed, the view will reflect the changes so I can see before I take the shot what it's going to look like. For manual focusing, they both can utilize magnify assist and edge detect(peaking).

I love this shot, Brylek. Well Done!

I've gotten a few shots this week, but nothing as spectacular as your shot!

I think they are great, I really like the first one! I like how you can still see the aircraft, next time I will try to go out a day or two before full moon.

I do not live anywhere close to a flight path. I am very jealous! ;-)a

South Bend is relatively close to you.

Let me know if you ever want to come to Chicago for some for sure shots. I know we can get a shot as long as the sky is clear and surface winds are out of the west.

This is a 4K video of the moon from tonight that I cropped to HD then resized back to 4K. Just a test...

Full screen at 4k looks pretty good I think.

Hi Gene, Love these moon photos. Detail is incredible. But then I have never seen a bad photo from you. Excellent work as usual. Thanks for
sharing.

Here is one from from a few days ago... seeing conditions only fair - still more turbulence than I want. But cool clear nights coming I hope! (though not soon looking at forecast :( )

From a somewhat sketchy website, no less. Disregard. Nothing to see here but maybe Space Whales.
