MacPhun is changing their name to Skylum. They want to be a worthy Adobe alternative. I wish them luck. I'm all for competition.

Going to do the upgrade?

Yah I would love to. I shoot weddings. AF, joystick and dual SD card is important for us. I think the A7RIII answered everything including the UHS-II which will makes writing faster than the sluggish A7RII in that department.

I don’t think they have a digital asset management product. They focus more on the processing side.

Cory/others, I’m thinking about a vacation in Idaho next year. The state looks beautiful. I’m not sure where to go and see. Thanks for any advice you can offer.

Spot on Charlie. I've been looking hard at the Sigma as I was really impressed with the optics when I rented it. It was just buggy via the MC-11 on the a7rII, but I'm really interested in the lens again with this new firmware.

For my next shoot, considering renting the Sigma 85 and 135 to test on the a9, and I figured out why I could not establish a connection to update, cable is bad, the one that came with the a9!

I'm certainly glad I had the restraint to avoid a second A7rii, should be much easier to get rid of the A7ii and A7r for a reasonable price. Both wont go till next year unless there's an incredible deal on the A7riii (happened with the A7rii). If they port over the eye AF ability to the A7rii.... I'de delay the update even more :-P

Man that was a lot of thread catching up I had there!

With regards to the a7riii it does look awesome. Pixel shift and joystick are a big positive for me. Dual cards is nice. Also loving that they didn’t up the megapixels, the files are big enough as it is!

I don’t see me picking one up for a while though. My a7rii was £2400 (early adopter price). It’s now £1600 (grey market like mine). To sell mine I’d get what £1200? Less eBay and PayPal fees so maybe get £1000 out it. I would then have to add about £2200 to that to get the new model assuming that it will be £3200 (normally U.K. prices are same as dollar price). That’s far too steep for me and basically writes off the cost I’ve put into the rii. Maybe after a few years the riii might be more in my range

Meant to say if it doesn’t have playmemories it will suck. Smooth reflections app is a game changer

Yes! I would gladly pay dxomark for updates to Nik.

This is really great news. Happy to pay for updates for that software package.

Nice work Vinz. Really clean lighting. Shooting portraits with infinity white is harder to do well than it looks.

Called my local dealer, told him to put me on the list for the a7rIII. He already told me that he's gotten 12 preorders for it already, which is a pretty decent size, with the a9 he only had 7 total before launch, for 12 within a few hours of announcement shows me that people are more excited and find the value better with this release than the a9.

I'm looking forward to the better Eye AF and better performance. If it can give a9 level performance for Eye AF, low light, and with all the extras it's a good setup. Just when I was looking at the a6500 again, this gets announced. The rIII, the new 24-105 and a prime will hopefully make it into my bag for Disney, which is cutting it close. From what I've heard this is coming the last day of November, which is a Thursday (30th). We leave for Disney on the 2nd, which is Saturday. Hopefully I'll be able To pickup it on Friday, lol.
