Nice work Vinz. Really clean lighting. Shooting portraits with infinity white is harder to do well than it looks.

thanks. bare V860II and AD200 made it possible. made a test shot with the background first and checked my histogram if it's all the way to the right. Background was a white vinyl. The same lights bounced back and became the rim lights.

When the RII was first announced, I was very eager to pick one up. So I actually bought it on ebay (buydig) before they even became available on Sony family website. I paid slightly more than what I would've paid had I waited. Now for this RIII, I think I can wait a little longer. All the new features and enhancements are very nice, but nothing I can't live without. I do like that they kept it at 42MP too, as files were already plenty big enough for my needs.

Meant to say if it doesn’t have playmemories it will suck. Smooth reflections app is a game changer

it's here in the full specs at sony website

Yep just a “-“ as opposed to “yes”. That’s a serious negative for me to the point that I would rather probably just keep using the rii and do without the other upgrades. I’ve got used to the sluggishness

Yeah body shape the same. They have removed the play memory apps so that the extra card and larger battery fits :-P

I hope Sony reverses their decision on supporting apps on these newer bodies. The SR app is not only useful for simulating long exposure. It also helps preserve shadow detail with less noise when pushing the files in post.

My preferred use of it is night photography. It lets you shoot at high iso and makes it look like iso 25.

24-105 G has sparked my interest. Wonder what the price point will be?

for astro i think the Venue Laowa 15mm F2 is your best beat. i'm thinking about it.

This lens is sitting on the wish lens at B&H. But, now that Sigma has announced they are making a 16 1.4. . .I may have to think a bit harder on that choice for the Laowa.

isn't the sigma 16 f1.4 for cropped sensor?

Eddie, a co-worker in the hospital shoots an Rii, he saw the '-' and said I'll pass.
He hates filters but loves the SR and timelapse among others, thought apps kinda future proofed a camera.
With Sony touting the a9 as 'pro pro pro' I figured the '-' for it, but when the RX10iv came=very consumer camera=and didn't
support apps I figured they are dead.
I think any apps for the future will be smartphone based=why use the horsepower of the cameras computer when the smartphone
has a pretty strong computer and memory.
Doesn't Sony make phones ???
Sadly the Xperia line has never been Verizon capable and Verizon is the only service reliable in my mountains.

Yeah it’s a disappointing direction change and also suggests they will never update smooth reflections to support silent shutter. I keep meaning to try doing smooth reflections manually to see how it turns out (multiple raws blended in Photoshop)
