Here's a lighting test I did this morning of a bottle of Michelob Amberbock Beer. Essentially, I placed a window frame holding tracing paper in front of each strip box, one at a time since I only have one frame at the moment. Then in PS, I merged the right and left halves to give me a softer edge light. I also spritzed some water + glycerin on the bottle to enhance the sense of cold.

I'm not totally happy with the lighting but it was a good learning experience anyway. I have some pullback stuff I may show later.

Nice touch with the glycerin Gene. Curious to see what you did in the pull back.

Thanks. I wanted to try taking multiple shots to blend together in post. Two things I hoped to do. One was to use a diffuser in front of the strip boxes to create a graduated, softer edge lighting. I have an aluminum window screen frame that I clamped doubled tracing paper to act as a diffuser. I only have the one so far which prompted the multiple exposures to begin with. The other thing I wanted to try was to use a small flash behind the bottle taking a few shots over the height of the bottle to blend in post too. That idea didn't work the way I hoped for in this shot and so I just blended the diffused light.

Here's a setup shot showing the bottle on a leaf from my dining room table on top of my kitchen cart and flanked by two small strip boxes. The background is a 20" x 30" foam core board clamped to a light stand. What isn't shown is the gold reflector I hand held on the front side opposite of each strip box exposure to bounce light into the front of the bottle. That didn't cover the center as much as I would have preferred.

The 2nd shot shows the window screen frame with tracing paper that I handheld in front of each strip box as I took the exposure. The lights are at approximately 45° to the bottle and I held the frame parallel to the edge of the table to give a graduated diffusion. That part turned out well I thought.

Finally, the camera was set to manual exposure and focus so as not to change from shot to shot. The flashes were also fired in manual mode as well.

It's a really photogenic city actually. Great scenes out in the French Corner. Very distinct architecture. Just don't wander too far away from the main streets with your gear....

So my external hard drive is spinning but isn't being recognized by Mac OS. Any ideas what's wrong?

Do you use the same prefix? If you do A7 and A9 prefix, how does LR get confused?

Its not an issue frkm.different cams, the issue is from one, the 7. I tend to use the 32gb cards in the 7. They were all aquired about the same time, and have very similar file numbers.

Yes client files are on it. I have a nas that i usually back up on, but it takes forever and I have been staying at all sorts of random places each night lately...have been dragging my MacBook and hard drive everywhere and that's probably what caused the failure

SAR was way off. All the talk was pointing to an a7III...and then a7sIII.

Also no mention of 42 MP once, or the 24-105
