This was in 120' of water, water temps were 37F and ended up being a couple hour dive...fun times... two strobes on camera and one slave strobe gelled orange...Just loaded up gear for tomorrows shoot with a few more slave strobes. Getting a feel for the unit before we start bringing it into the caves. The Mark 4 is proving itself a winner in low-light situations. Canon 8-15 was the lens I use for underwater work.

Thank you Digital Paradise, it helps tremendously that we dive together every week and I briefed Matt on what I am looking for...but I'm only one part of the equation. These wouldn't happen if he didn't have his diving skill set seriously honed.
We just got back and this is what we shot in the same location and depth... guess you could say we're doing the Halloween thing...

Here is a selfie from my dive a couple hours ago. This was a test as I normally don't shoot 8mm and needed to see how much of my dome shade it picks up going ultra-wide. Guess I need to stay in the 10-11mm range so as not to get the dome shade. Plus I was bored as we had a long decompression time and needed something to keep me amused.

I have dived about 6 times in my life with the ½ orientation that I know would have done very little if things had gone south. Like I would remember the training if I has stopped getting oxygen :-) Got down to 30 feet once and I loved every dive and every minute. I wish I could have done more. You are at a whole different level.

Congrats for trying it, many people talk themselves out of it for a myriad of reasons yet you didn't, well done.. "You are at a whole different level..." yes but we all start at the same level and place...

Thank you Naturalist,
I feel much more comfortable shooting underwater and its what I specialize in...I can't keep up with a lot of you that shoot topside stuff so I have to look elsewhere for an advantage (grin). Thank you for you kind words. The Mark IV is fantastic underwater and it should be stellar for the underwater caves I shoot.

Decostanza - Amazing diving images. Definitely unique!!

Trout Bum - Nice shots. I struggle when the sun is coming down on the leaves like that. Not sure how you were able to handle that. Well done!

Superstition Mountains...yes...I go there somewhat often. This was tonight under the moonlight.
