I'm amazed at the quality of my boy's kit lens costing < A$200 and the 18-55 is just as good............thought I'd try it out. Nearly all the reviews said it was soft over 200...........not this one. Ken Rockwell finally got something right. Fringing in only one shot of the prickly pear and that was easily corrected

I watched the movie The Lighthorsemen, from 1987, this weekend. I had seen the film before and it was pure coincidence that I happened to see it again yesterday. I had no idea the 100th anniversary of the charge at Beersheba is this coming Tuesday, October 31st. If the reality of the charge was anything like the romanticized movie it was an amazing feat by the Australian Light Horse.

This image was of the park looking from the rear entrance of the Philadelphia Museum. Having spent 5 hours in the museum just prior to this October 2015 late afternoon shot, I purposely intended to overprocess it to create an intense Hudson River school painting-like landscape. I was using my EF 35mm f/2 IS USM. Any comments or criticisms are welcome. This was an experiment and I'm not thin skinned. :-)
