I have a tax ID and can get around paying tax for gear at best buy. If it's in stock there at launch I might get it there. I'm planning of funding the a7rIII from my a9 sale y'day, but Best Buy has really good financing deals that I never mind taking advantage of.

ooh nice. yup i love financing from best buy just because we can hehehe. i see that its 18 months for the r3. I would have gone bestbuy if i had enough credit on my account. it'll also help give you the amount you need for elite plus if you havn't already got :D

Got the green light for the FE 16-35 GM lens! Now need to decide on B&H or Adorama. I've had mixed results from each. Going to sell my Batis 18 after I test out the new GM lens. This will be my first GM lens so I'm excited.

Sounds great Alfredo! And the great thing about both those superb retailers is their helpful return policy if the lens doesn’t meet your expectations.

I’m also eager to see what you think of the lens as I have some interest in it as well (though not a good business reason as you do).

Wow thanks Helen. I just ordered through Adorama. One thing I noticed on my last order with you guys is the packaging inside was a bit sparse. Please ensure there is bubble wrap all around the box. Typically it's only on the bottom. Thanks so much.

I have the same complaint. My Sony FE 100-400mm GM arrived to me from Adorama inadequately packed. Happily the lens was undamaged in transit and arrived in perfect working order.

FE 100-400 should be here tomorrow. I'm sort of counting on that to keep me excited and busy enough not to order the R3 just yet. I'm going wait that one out for a bit.
Although I have already decided i WILL get it eventually. The joystick, dual card slots, and ergonomics are a big deal for me.

In the meantime. Still playing with some shots from Saturday evening. The usual spot (so you guys should be bored to tears of these by now), but I find that every time I go, I end up with a different palette of colors (season, weather, lighting, etc).

The Marketplace threads don't have as much buying and selling going on as we do here.

LOL. So true

Yes exactly why I wanted to buy new from a retailer with a good return policy.

I’ll share my impressions. I’m curious to see how the lens renders compared to the CV and Loxia lenses.

Tough call Eddie. I needed the focal length of the 16-35 for my architecture work. Also the GM accepts filters which is a big plus for landscape and cityscape shots. It also handles flare better and can be used for astro too although a prime lens maybe better served. I prefer the sun stars of the GM over the 12-24 but both are not as nice as the CV or Loxia line.

as long as the light is softish, the 12-24 is fairly forgiving, but harsh light, it can really flare. That said, I couldnt live without 10/12mm so the choice was simpler.

you can see the flare here:

Same here! :-)

Oh, and I have a Brownie around here somewhere.

Sadly, this is my Brownie that I've had since I was a kid. Once, a long time ago, I thought I'd give it a good cleaning and whatever I used wiped all the paint off the front, Kodak logo, stripes, and all. So in disgust with myself, I've just had it sitting in storage for years. Even the leather handle has rotted off. :-(

Luminar for Windows announced, any interest?
Seems like we'll all add it eventually for the NIK angle.

Not after what they’ve done to me on Aurora.

Yep big time Dodger fan here. What a crazy awesome WS it has been. Astros are very very tough but I think we should be able to come through with home field advantage. Let's Go Dodgers!!!
