A bit steep price wise but as a very happy g1x mk11 owner this could be a stonker of a camera if it really is that much better.

Once the honeymoon period is over and the price drops could be a good buy compared to the top end Sony's and Fuji's. Canon 5D mk3, 50mm 1.4, 17-40L, 70-200L, 100-400L, Canon 100L macro, Canon 2 x G1X, Speedliite 430 EX all supported by Gitzo and Benro.

I wonder if the extra "cropping " ability because of the higher pixel count will make up for the loss of optical zoom.

I do wish they had put an external mic sound input socket on though, the inbuilt mic is pretty awful outside. Most probably a 6000 x 4000 image you should be be able do a pretty good crop. Also, although spec wise the lens is slower it sounds pretty good for grabbing a lot of light onto the sensor, so I would imagine the noise is improved, not sure about the depth of field though. Nov 30, 2017 01:26 | #11 It'll be awesome after it hits the refurb page and gets it's first sale. My guess $749 or so next Christmas on the refurb site. At the end of the day it's still just an 80d/M5 sensor with a slow lens in a pocket frame. I can't see it holding that high of value for all that long. www.matthewbeutelphotography.com
