Does anyone else have an issue with the 50ish mm focal length, I recently picked up a FE55 and I just cant seem to get on with it. Dont get me wrong, IQ wise its excellent, its just the focal length that leaves me feeling flat. I got it because I had a gap between 35mm and 85mm and thought I needed something as I was tending to crop 35mm images slightly. I think its just me but I much prefer using the 35mm, even if it is larger and heavier (35mm Art with MC11).

Just wondered about others experience

FE 100-400.

Really loving this lens.

As for all the 85 talk. I am very happy with the FE 85/1.8. Not sure why you'd want to bother with the B85, to be honest.

Sony A7RII and a bunch of lenses.

I could never get int the groove with 50mm on FF sensors. I much preferred 35mm. Thats why I have the 24mm on the APS-c. I love it! Great for all kinds of shooting. I didn't mind the gap between 35 a& 85.

Great to hear she's finally home. I hope intensive care doesn't mean anything serious occurred.

It's amazing how much brother and sister look alike at that age. You are proud parents to be sure. :-)

Thanks Gene. In the end it wasn’t anything serious but she was being sick a lot at first and it was green so they had to check her out for bowel issues and feed her through a tube for a few days etc. Thankfully all is good and the sickness has stopped

me too that's why my version of trinity is 35/85/135. the 50ish is a little odd to use but comes handy when you shoot indoor and you don't wanna crop like you mentioned.

You don’t need anything between 35mm and 85mm imo. The FE 35mm 1.4 ZA might serve you better. It’s lighter than adapting the Sigma and has more beautiful bokeh. Not quite as sharp wide open though.

Excellent...this is good news! Looking forward to more of your thoughts and discoveries with the lens. Very impressive that it holds up well against the Batis and Loxia.

I’m interested to learn how you do with the busy sunstars...hope they won’t be objectionable for your architectural work.

No problem. Yeah I think the sun stars will be more like the Batis 18 as opposed to the Loxia or Voightlander versions. It should be ok but I’ll see. This lens does very well with flare control. Looks like the new lens coatings work well.

Thanks everyone, I’m glad its not just me. I much prefer the 35mm as a walk around lens. Ive looked at the FE, but tbh I’m not too bothered about the weight, the Sigma is also great wide open. I think I might re-sell it and save the money for something else, maybe the riii ;)
