Playing around with some architecture shots while walking around the beach last vacation with my X100T... wish I were back there Admittedly I'm not much good at this type of thing, I just liked the lines... wish there was someone in the hall for the second shot though. Not a lot of traffic going through here mid day since it's the 14th floor on a beach front resort, all the rooms have balconies on the other side, a better place to be

Have you tested the D850 Nikon for giggles? The pixel density if quite tight for 45.7 mega pixels on a full frame sensor. However the resolution would satisfy many portrait photographers while being a high performance beast for everything you can throw at it.

The draw to the GFX is quite evident but I'm still trying to figure out if it's truly a need to have for a high percentage of portrait shooters. Most clients probably couldn't tell between a digital medium format vs high res FF. As many crop sensor Fuji shooters will also interject that people cannot tell a crop sensor fuji file vs your average full frame sensor.

Since your a Canon shooter as well seems like the new upcoming 85L f/1.4 IS will be an insane beast. I would imagine it's in the same league as the Sigma 85 ART for astounding image quality.

Your GFX images posted on POTN is compressed so I cannot tell a difference between a Medium format Fuji file vs crop or full frame using a prime lens wideopen.

Do you fine more micro contrast/sharpness in the GFX files?

Cool a GFX in the thread, nice one Bobby. What lens are you using, is it one of your Canon lenses like the 85/1.2?

I find it difficult, at times, to tell the difference between an APS-c sense and a Full MF sensor

Some will already know the answer to that but if you don't one was with an X-PRO2 and the other was with a Phase1 IQ3 with a 100MP back

For me the jump from crop to full frame is not so much but the jump from crop to medium format is, that properly big sensor is just lovely. Fuji design in a big sensor camera, it is nice to use and the files are so nice to play with in post. For me portraits and the odd times at weddings as well as landscapes & products - that I'm still trying to get my head around - is where I'd see the most from it.

To me it's like looking at a movie that was shot on s35 and playing it back to back with one that was shot on 70mm, with the 70mm there is a great sense of size and dimension to the image. Little things.

Anyone here have an image of their Fuji with a Godox/Flashpoint 685 version flash in the hotshoe?
I see full ETTL/HSS compatibility listed with the Fuji and if I went this route, it would be with the Flashpoint for the support.
Anyone using one of these with their Fuji? Does the ETTL and HSS really work well? Any known bugs (like weird exposure stuff when bounced, etc)?

You are far more likely to see the difference in prints than web-sized images. 13x19 is probably about the sweet spot for starting to see it come together most easily and, as you go bigger, it becomes easier.

A lot can be accomplished by the skillful use of light, post-processing and lens selection, to be sure. Great work on all three will tell, and a sensor by itself won't make poor work on the other three surpass great work on the other three. But...it does buy you the ability to do more heroic post-processing, have greater exposure latitude, deliver a better tonal range and subtle variations in color, etc.

Compared to the other portraits he has posted I see the difference, his subjects are pretty in focus top to bottom.

I did some testing with Sony A7rII which is really nice camera. Now with A7rIII, the difference will be real close as Fuji sensor is like 3 if not more yrs older tech. But man, that 110mm f2 is sharp at 200%. Can't say about 85L II and I have 300mm f2.8 IS I (which was one of the sharpest Canon). And now looking at GFX, I think this will rock when Fuji puts the updated 100MP Sony new sensor hopefully next yr. I will put the link to full res jpeg. I am not good in pp, WB for some reason was off, more so on back LCD but man in the end when I looked at my screen, I loved it. So did my wife. Now like I said it could be just my mind trying to justify $8000 expense.

I haven't noticed anything odd, all works as it should so far. Not sure if your X100S is covered by Godox though nothing in the manual but tight not be accurate.

I imagine the flash is huge compared to the camera.

I'm not thinking about it for the X100S for now. Mostly just looking at what my options are in the future.

If I continue this pathway, I think my next Fuji is a used X-T1. So I'm looking to see what lighting options I have, as this is paramount for me. Too bad none of the upper tier Fujis have leaf shutters like the X100 series. That would be divine.

So currently I have the X-Pro2, XT-1, 23mm, 35mm, 56mm, 90mm, and 50-140mm.

I had put my 90mm up for sale, and have a potential buyer. I figured when I sold it, I might put the funds towards an XT2, but currently, my XT1 sits on a shelf. It’s a backup for my xpro2. My question is, do I really need an XT2? I know the 50-140 and the 56 and 90 overlap, but different beasts in my opinion. I guess I felt a little remorse for getting the 50-140, so I was thinking I need to get rid of something.... but I’m greedy haha.

You always need a back up... and the X-t2 is better than the X-t1.

Well yes, the XT2 is better than the XT1, but my issue is that the XT1 doesn’t see any action as it is, and would it even be worth getting the XT2 if it would suffer the same fate. I’m not going to go buy the latest and greatest gear because it’s “better”. My Canon 5D Mark II served me very well despite the Mark III and Mark IV models that surpassed it. It didn’t make my 5D Mark II take worse photos.

Personally if I were you I wouldn't get an x-t2. The x-t1 is just sitting and you don't see the x-t2's fate being any different then why spend the money on it?

I get the remorse about having the 50-140, 56, and 90. I have the 50-140 and 56 and some times feel like I should sell the 56. But the 56 and 50-140 are two different beasts and I have each for different purposes so I tell that feeling to take a hike and keep both
