How does one get this look. Always wondered. Is it in camera or when editing? Just curious. I think they are beautiful. Wish I was that talented.

The easy answer is "use a telephoto lens".... that's how you get the compressed look, where the mountain ranges are all stacked like that.

I say "easy answer" because we live in Florida..... no mountain ranges near here. I have tried to think of applications where I can try it here because I love the look also.

I'm not sure how much talent has to do with it but thank you! As I think someone else posted, it is a matter of focal length. The longer a focal length is, the more the elements in the image are compressed together. The converse is also true, the lower you go in focal length (think wide angle lenses) the more distance you create between foreground subjects vs. background subjects.

Which look you go for is dictated by what you wish to convey with the image but also somewhat dictated by the geography.

Thank you for the comment!

In both of these photos I like these color tones of the sky, they're beautiful. In this second photo these palms are situated in a good place in this frame which helps for a good composition. Besides, of course it is mater of an individual taste in your second photo the horizont line is situated not so central here in this frame which also helps for a good composition.

In both of these photos I like this stream of flowing water. Very good use of shutter speed and exposure controls to photograph these scenes here. These are Excellent photos.
