Nov 10, 2017 21:19 | #7202 Sigma 135. I've always found that Sigma lenses render have a really harsh rendering of OOF highlights. The compressed 135MM FOV hides a lot, but the OOF highlights on the 135 are really well defined too. It's not always a big deal. I'll probably go back and desaturate the reds in the background so they don't pop out as much. IMAGE LINK: https://flic.kr/p/Gs4Vctfocalpointsphoto.com

navydoc Cream of the Crop More info Post edited over 5 years ago by navydoc. (4 edits in all) | Nov 10, 2017 23:32 | #7204 Playing around with beer lighting today. I placed a strip box on either side of the bottle of Stella Artois on my home bar and a 3rd light behind and snooted. I also had my bar lights on. With the camera set on manual exposure, I increased the shutter speed to darken the ambient light and tweaked the side and back flashes to what I thought looked OK. To keep the busy background from overpowering the bottle of beer, I used the fast aperture of my Sigma 35 Art lens wide open at f1.4 to blur it out. Here's the finished shot and a behind the scenes view too. I really like this Gene. I feel as though the bottle is tilting right slightly though? Leica M11 | Leica Q2 | Sony α7RV

For some reason, now that I've edited the image, it appears below the bts shot even though the order is correct when I view in edit mode. ![]() That looks better to my eye Gene, I really like the way you have used the wide aperture to blur the background Leica M11 | Leica Q2 | Sony α7RV

Thanks for posting these Gene, loving the DoF on the latest. Having just sold all my studio strobes, I can see an outbreak of GAS on more portable solutions. What units are in the soft Boxes?

Nov 11, 2017 09:11 | #7214 I just remember to get the state building in the frame, and get as much compression as possible as there was a lot of people around TMaG82 wrote in post #18493848 4 kids? Geez, I feel overwhelmed with 2, don't know how you deal with 4. I just flip the script with them. Instead of me worrying about a kid getting lost (young one is an exception), the older ones have to worry about getting lost from the pack. They behave well knowing that, and from time to time, they can get lost, we have a stand still kind of rule. If a kid gets lost, we can form a mini search party, which helps a lot when finding the other kid. If I know that the place is very crowded, then I'll bring whistles for each kid. Nov 11, 2017 09:27 | #7215 My oldest is 4.5, turning 5 in March so she listens pretty well. My youngest just turned 2 in July so she’s all trying to be independent and doesn’t want anyone’s help. She copies her older sister and the biggest issues I run into is when they can’t share, then it becomes a scream fest. I’ve had to give up watching football (didn’t even know who was playing in the Super Bowl last year until I turned on the TV at 6:30), dropped being the commissioner of my fantasy football league, and haven’t gone to the movies in probably 2 years (Jurassic World was the last we saw after the solar eclipse like event of both kids being in daycare and my wife and I both having off on the same day). I’m trading in my SUV next year for a minivan so we can drive around easier with the grandparents. And my camera GAS has been quenched by my wife’s desire to buy a house. Yeah, you can say my life has changed in the past 5 years, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything. Current Gear: Sony RX1RII
