So I'm trying to squash my GAS. A bit of history, I had the 5D4 with 35L, 50L, 85L, 135L (and some zooms that are travel lenses) Then I got the 35 IS so I could shoot some video with the 5D4. Then I went off the rails and got the A7R ii. First I just had the FE 50, then I got the Batis 25 and the FE 85. Somewhere along the way I sold the 35L and got the Sigma 35A with MC-11. Continuing to be indecisive and needing some cash, I sold the 35A. I have also sold the 135L as I wasn't using it much.
So as of now I have the 35 IS, 50L and 85L for the 5D4 and the B25, FE 50 and FE 85 for the A7Rii. Now I love the 35mm FL. I thought 25 would work but it's not. So I've got 3 or 4 thoughts. I like the B25 for landscapes, but haven't found myself using it a ton, so I could sell it. Use the proceeds toward the Zeiss 35/2.8, FE 28 (though still worry this would be too wide), Zeiss 35/1.4, or the Sig 35A (with the added benefit of working with both cameras.) I've also found myself living with 50mm on both cameras lately without a faster 35 on hand. Which leaves me thinking about a faster 50 for the Sony...
I love the 1.4's, but something has been striking me with the slightly slower Sony glass is the size and weight. The Sonnar 35/2.8 looks very appealing on this count.
I know these posts rarely going anywhere and we all do what we are going to do, but just thought a little conversation might help. I really like this group and value your input.
