Ive been thinking about it more today and I think I’m going to pick that one I linked up and will store bodies, lenses, flashes and chargers in it. The other thing I’m trying to work out at the moment is how best to store my lighting gear at home - light stands, backdrop stands, flash brackets, clamps, backdrops, snoot, reflector etc etc

When you figure out how to store all your lighting gear, be sure to share here. I'm in need of doing that too.

Here's what I use to store cameras, lenses, a flash or two and misc. small items, my Lowepro Pro Roller x300 AW. I'm getting too many bits & pieces I use for "still life" photos and need someplace to organize them as well.

That does look ideal Gene and is what I initially had in mind after remembering seeing yours but the cost is higher than I was looking to pay at the moment as it’s about 5 times the cost of the Peli style case I’m looking at. It does look like it holds a lot more for the size though which would be handy.

You know, in my old house I used a pair of industrial shelves for my lighting gear, camera gear, and other studio sundries. Edsal Shelf (external link)

Originally I kept everything in a large, rolling workbox with my lightstands strapped on top. Then I moved to a Closetmaid wardrobe cabinet (external link). I eventually outgrew that between camera gear, bags, and studio equipment. I've found the industrial shelves to be the best solution, and you can take one, split it in half and use it as an 8 ft long workbench, or two 4ft workbenches, each with storage underneath. Otherwise it's just a never ending cycle of buying the next larger storage solution, that requires you to dig through it to get what you want when you're shooting. Or buying more and more containers, many of which will cost more than a good shelf and be less useful.

One of my favorites from Old Car City yesterday, I was looking for plays of light across things, since I was there early in the day, the sun was still low, and it accentuated the lines and curves of the cars...it was great fun to be there at that time of day.

I finished up editing images from a recent commercial building. These were a pain to edit due to up to 9 stops of dynamic range in some of the scenes. Client wanted daytime shots that made things more difficult. They also wanted some lifestyle shots so I had to include some people in the shots. I plan to deliver the images tomorrow.

This was a good test of the FE 16-35 GM since it was use for almost all of the images. The lens performed well from an image quality perspective. Some barrel distortion at 16mm required some additional corrections beyond the LR profile. I'm more inclined now to sell off the Batis 18 since the zoom is much more versatile and is on par.

Here are some of my favorites. The rest can be viewed on my Flickr album linked below:

For scenes with windows, I prefer that the view outside be a bit brighter to make it look a bit more natural.

I had to tone down the purple hues int the floor using a hue/sat layer. This scene had 9 stops of dynamic range.

I think you did great Alfredo, I love the Live Oak reflections in the first one. As much as fluorescent lighting sucks in a work space as a worker, it can be easy to shoot!

Thank you Travis! Yes flourescents make for more even lighting which helps a lot to shoot the scene. It's when you introduce window views where it gets tricky. I have one shot of a large open suite that has a fire extinguisher on the wall. Do you think I should clone it out or leave it? I figured the client may want to keep it in the image to highlight a safety feature of the room but perhaps not.

I had to do a sky swap on this one. I add in some blue and some hint of clouds to the window reflections to better match the sky.

Great work Alfredo! Also the 16-35mm GM looks like a winner.

If it were for the architect, and it was for portfolio, clone it out...but if it is for the owner of the building, and they are planning to use the images to market the space, I would leave it. You are presenting the space as is...

Great job on the sky replacement, I would not have known had you not said it.
