The 5DIV is amazing in high contrast situations. I thought for sure that the strip of sun was going to be blown out and/or his jacket would be completely black. This was his first time on a horse and his daughter was leading him around. I was trying to get a shot that captured the moment well. Any critiques on the PP work? I just did some basic edits in Lightroom but it can probably be improved.

I do think it has a little less headroom on the highlights but if you don't clip it you have a lot to work with. John

I've forgiven canon for trying to twist my arm into buying one of their cinema cameras.. (which I wont do ..) I had a 5d3 , but how quick we forget .. I know mirrorless can be as big and heavy as dslr's , but I stayed away from the 2.8 zooms and 1.4 primes when mirrorless because I know it can be pretty much as big and heavy .. any ways I still have my Fuji mirrorless setup with a pair of f2 primes ,to keeps things small and light for certain situations .. But through out my mirrorless experience (sony, panasonic, fuji) I did miss the quick responsiveness for stills I got with the 5d3.. especially the ability to AF during low light situations... events / portrait sessions .. and so in comes the 5d4.. my first two pics to this thread .. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Very nice and welcome back!
