I think I prefer 135 focal length for tight head/shoulder shots like this.

I haven't had to calibrate my 85 art since focus is spot on, but I did have to calibrate my 35 art. I ran a controlled focus test on it to check for front and back focusing. To do this, I put my camera on a tripod and set a yard stick at a 45* angle at a distance away that is 50x the focal length. I focused on one number on the yard stick, stopping down with each shot. Once I confirmed that my lens was front focusing, I used the DotTune method via YouTube to calibrate and my 35 works great now. I also had to do this with my 50 1.8.

Oh my goodness, does nobody use APS-C anymore?? Not a single image in 17 pages from a crop body! :eek: :lol:

I'm having to scale down some and looks like I'll be picking up an older body just to get me by for a bit (spending the rest of the budget on good glass instead of good body).
