Late summer Praying Mantis

I was trimming some bushes this morning, and came this fellow in the pile while cleaning up. It's always an occasion finding a mantis, and photographing them is a lot of fun. Very bold characters!

For these shots I used a remote speed light on a boom arm. It was also high noon, so the sun was helping out some too.
