You guys (gals) are gonna be sick of eagles but I promise to let up.
This one from yep the RX10iv. Can you believe it? I couldn't. A bit of processing I'll admit
but you know my skills at pp are minimal at best (but Gene is teaching from afar).

I know we love our big stuff, don't we? I know the A7Rii has always given me gifts. The a9
is a gem among gems. Soon enough more of us will succumb to the 3's seduction but check this out, it
even amazed me (OK if you're not a wildlife BIF guy nevermind :)

Regardless just keep telling yourself the RX10iv is just a 1 inch sensor point-n-shoot :)

Don't stop your eagle shots, I love them! I'm amazed at the quality of the pictures you are getting with the 10iv.

I just picked up my R3 from the fedex shipping center. I didn’t wanna open it yet. Sony might announce an R4. Lol :p

Really glad this worked out for you Vinz. It looks like delivery of this camera has been a nightmare even for those who pre-ordered the minute stores like B&H started taking pre-orders.

Disney World with the kiddos, looking forward to it, it's been 29 years since I've been there, obviously the first time for the kids and same for my wife. I looked into ordering one of those WD Wireless Passports with SD card or even that Gnarbox, but completely forgot to. I'll see if I can dig up some spare SD cards. I think it should be ok, with the ones that I have, I should have enough for say 5,000+ images, hopefully I don't go past that.

I think you should be good. 5k images is a lot.

Enjoy your trip and the rx1rII.

Wow! Great shot. How do you get the trees with no ghosting for such long exposure?

There was no breeze, the moss didnt even move. The clouds barely showed any movement.

Anyone here using the 16-35 GM? I've been contemplating replacing my 17-40L, as it just can't hang with the A7RII. After shooting the same scene with my 17-40, 14, and 24-70, I've realized that the artifiact issues I've been having aren't because of software or workflow, but simply from the 17-40.

I've been thinking about the Canon 16-36 f/4, but apparently it loses sharpness in the corners when adapted to the Sony, by a fairly significant amount.

Alfredo has been using it on his architecture gigs. The lens looks like a winner so far.

Yep I've been using the 16-35 GM for about a month now, mainly for architecture work. It's a keeper! It's a high performing lens with excellent sharpness throughout the frame, great build quality, very nice bokeh wide open, minimal CA, good flare control, good sun stars (not as great as Loxia/Voightlander), and very good rendition. The size and weight are quite good for being an f2.8 lens. I don't find it overly heavy at all. Yes it will take up some room in your bag vs a prime but not bad at all. I think the only slight negative I see aside from the prices is some barrel distortion on the wide end but that can be corrected via lens profiles and further improved using a tool like DXO Viewpoint. You'll read about how weaker it is at 35mm but I think it's a consistently performing lens across the zoom range. If you're a wedding, event, landscape, or architecture/cityscape shooter, then it's one excellent lens to have. It can even be used for astro too given its good coma performance and sharpness wide open.

Note: I haven't found any lens testing results on FM like you usually see with the other lenses. Not sure why. I don't know of anyone in that group that owns the lens. I think most opted for the smaller and excellent FE 12-24 lens.

Edit: You should also take a look at the FE 16-35 f4 lens. Very good lens and much cheaper than its GM brother. It may have nicer sun stars too from what I've read.

Curiosity question.
Shipping label made at B&H on the 29th-

'Sony FE 24-105mm f/4 G OSS Lens
BH# SO241054G 1 Shipped'

UPS tracking still says
'A UPS shipping label has been created. Once the shipment arrives at our facility, the tracking status--including the scheduled delivery date--will be updated.'

Any chance B&H says shipped when they don't even have the lens to ship?

No biggie. I'm not going anywhere for a month.
Just seems strange.

So do you think B&H would say shipped when they haven't?

UPS is jammed up right now because of black Friday so it's likely that BH packed it up but it's stuck somewhere in transit. My Sigma 135 was supposed to be delivered yesterday but it looks like I won't have it till Monday.

Kinda sucks because I have 3 shoots this wknd and would have liked to use the lens. Not the end of the world though

16-35 GM looks great and would be better than adapted lenses. However...

...I tested my Canon 16-35mm f/4L IS on both 5DS R and a7R II with metabones iv and I saw no difference at all. Later I tried it with the Sigma mc-11 adapter and the corners were obviously softer. I have no idea why there was such a significant difference. Adapters can be great when they’re great, but that mc-11 gave me poor corner performance.

Actually my metabones adapter is the last relic of my Canon gear I have left...planning to sell it soon ‘cause I’m all done with owning Canon-mount lenses.

I agree with you David. When I tested my Canon 16-35/4 on both 1DX and a7rII with metabones iv, I didn't see noticeable difference either. Canon 16-35/4 was a fantastic lens.
