Right now I'm just contemplating on spending the 2k for the Canon 16-35LIII, or the 4.5K for the two Sony GM lenses and L bracket. Ugh. At least if I went all Sony it would make my set up a bit easier. Hmmmm.-?

Hehe I think most of us reached that fork in the road eventually. There are merits to keeping the old DSLR handy, but maintaining two systems is a PITA and expensive.

Thanks for the Vid Gene. It was really helpful and was basically able to sort of mimic what they did in PS. I created a layer and used split toning to cast a deep red hue onto the highlights. Used the clone stamp tool and painted the red hue along the highlights around the saber on the main layer...mostly on the mask but subtly everywhere else to sell the effect.

To create Kylo Ren's broken kyber crystal saber I ran a smudge too haphazardly along the blade to 'destabilize' the saber. Not 100% happy with it and will probably give it another go ahead since it was a learn as I go process.

Looking good Carlo. Don't forget to add some red reflection onto his left glove too.

Super clean Alfredo. Nice work.

I attended UTSA back in 2003. That campus has really come a long way.

Thanks Carlo! I didn’t know that. This is the campus downtown which I think is their architecture school. The main campus further north has expanded so much. I need to shoot there more often.

it's been like this since last week and today it's the same. what's up with amazon? can't keep up. if you look at their listing, it's now "temporary out of stock". and i pre-ordered oct 28th.

I had a mission to capture the moon setting over the ocean.... apparently, you need super clear skies for that to happen, and it was way too misty in the morning. My other choice was to do a sunrise capture, and I kind of blew it because the sky had a nice glow in the morning. With mist and fog, not all was lost.

Smooth reflections for like 10 minutes, underexposed 1 stop, however sorta evened out as the skies naturally got brighter during blue hour. zeiss 100-300 @ 150ish

Nice. I had a similar idea down here and ran into the same problem. Wound up shooting waves crashing into the barrier at Childrens Pool instead.

Wow. That came out gorgeously! Where is that?

Also, I'm on a mission to shoot the Malibu caves sometime in the next few weeks. Please let me know if you're interested and we can set something up.

I've decided to be a lot more specific about my planned shoots: Identify the target, and even the shot, more or less and then plan it. I got tired of the haphazard approach I'd taken in the past. Hehe.

Whoever said that early December is a slow week for Disney, I’d hate to see a busy week. First day here, spent the morning at Hollywood Studios, had to rough it for the first day with no stroller, never again. Spent 35 minutes waiting for Olaf, lol. You spend more time waiting which makes the Park seems bigger than it actually is, in actuality HS seems tiny. Tomorrow at Magic Kingdom which should be an adventure in itself.
