Sadly, this is my Kodak Brownie that I've had since I was a kid. Once, a long time ago, I thought I'd give it a good cleaning and whatever I used to clean it with wiped all the paint off the front, Kodak logo, stripes, and all in a single stroke. So in disgust with myself, I've just had it sitting in storage for years. Even the leather handle has disintegrated. :-(

Still a very good camera - glad to see it is going again!

Here are a couple of photos I took of the 1Ds MkII I used to own. It was a great camera.

On the subject of 1Ds Mark II's, she was quite the beast! Here was mine with a RRS bracket:

..........

Do you still use that beamer?

I'm tired of mine. I'm considering a wilflife mag beamer kit. Costs twice what the better beamer is, but, it's not flimy splastic, instead, it's floppy rubber. I dunno. Considering trying it. My longest is 600mm though on 1.3x crop (1D III) which is nearly 800mm FOV on full frame.

My main concern is distance to subject. I find that I have to be quite close for ETTL & HSS on the flash to matter, at all, with the better beamer.

How close do you have to be before your flash no longer does anything?

Very best,
