started to read that thread...yep...gotta not read that...nope...not gonna do it...

Resistance is futile. Just think how much easier it will be when you can share batteries with your a9

that would be nice...to give an idea how much better those batteries are...I charged both of my a9 batteries before the JTNP trip...I used the a9 for a bunch of little walk around stuff...then shot some family stuff when I got home, then did a bunch of video this weekend and then a photo session this weekend...all on one battery, that never got recharged until last night...those new batteries are awesome.

Took a break from editing the trip pics (more of those to come soon). I went down to Newport Beach to try and capture the supermoon this evening.

Supermoon rising over the Saddleback Mountains and the back bay in Newport.

Man that is crazy good work. I love the thinly veiled outline of the mountains.

My first shot outdoor with the R3. My son(on the right) playing with his Jazz band. I felt like the color is richer. this is pretty much sooc.

Vinz with that kind of bokeh I can see why you love that 1.4, My 1.8 doesn't get anything like that.

I figure I’ll end up ordering the R3 once the preorder backlog dies down.

Sony A7RII and a bunch of lenses.

I am REALLLY trying for bosque del Apache over new years weekend. Hoping to catch a mass of species.

Eriet we're lucky on Sandhills (travel wise lucky), several thousand come within 3 hours of us.
We've already scheduled a boat to get within striking distance.

Hey Travis, I ended up getting one of those Storm Jackets you recommended after getting frustrated with the cheap cover I'd been using. It saw some serious use this weekend. :-P

This shot is impossible to get without getting wet in the process, or in my case, completely drenched. The camera and lens were the only things left dry after the splash from this wave.:-D

I have sandhills within 3.5 hours right near Tombstone AZ. But really ONLY sandhills. I understand Bosque has 4-5 varieties...... The Tombstone site is my backup if I dont go to NM it is a great boondock place too!!

I got the small Ruggard dry cabinet and it's great. I do live in a high-humidity environment and it's a comfort to have. It's also great for keeping dust out.

thanks for your feedback David. really am looking at one, just trying to figure out which size I want. I think I might get the 80L just in case. I'm sure I can fit what I have including the 70-200 in the smaller one but I like the options of having more.

DT thanks for looking.
I'm just over the top with 800mm of reach that I can hold.
Of course it was bright clear skies when there but another thing about aging, when
the weather is crap I'm staying in more and more :)

thanks for sharing. I was considering whether or not I want the extender for when more reach is needed. Price for it is just way to much but its still something to think about.
