I do a lot of lens tinkering, to get new photographic tools.

Here a cheap 480mm f/3.8 epidiascope triplet lens on a inter-image ultra-large-format camera setup. Resulting in a DOF like a fullframe 48mm f/0.38 /but there the image is a bit cropped due to light leaks.

Does anyone have any experience of the Yashinon DX 50mm 1.4? I've seen one in pretty good condition at what I think is a good price and I'm very tempted. I'd be using it on Fuji.

The DX Yashinon's are decent, but the coatings aren't great, they flare a good bit. If you can find a DS-M or YL Yashica, it'll perform better. I actually prefer some of my Yashica lenses over my Zeiss 50/1.7.
