DPP in Windows 10

Just started to use windows 10 why cant I use DPP as my default program to open cr2 files in windows 10 Windows 7 let me use it and all my thumbnails would appear as DPP files and when I clicked on one it would open in DPP now they appear as Windows photo viewer file thumbnails and will not open raw files does anyone know of a work around for this Thank you!

right click, Open With, select DPP and hopefully you will see an option to Always Use This Application to open CR2 files.


yeah, I gots some stuff.

Thank you for your reply Dpp is installed on my computer and I can open it but when I right click on the thumbnails in windows photo viewer it does not list it as a open with program even though its on my desktop and installed.

1. In Explorer open a folder with CR2 files.
2. Right-click on a file and go to 'Open with'.
3. If DPP does not appear in the list, select 'Choose another app' (illustration 1).
4. In the window that opens scroll down until you find DPP. If it doesn't appear at first, select 'More apps'. Eventually you should find it. Be sure that 'Always use this this app' is checked (illustration 2).
5. Click OK.

Also be sure that you have the latest version of DPP4 which is 4.7.20.
