Hi,

I was back at Plum Island in Massachusetts yesterday walking on the beach when I saw this snowy flying toward me.

The snowy flew toward the dune!

Very nice! I love they way they sort of look at you like they're simply unimpressed :p Years ago we had an irruption of them at a local beach and I went down with everyone else to try and capture some pics; I was extremely excited to be sitting on a log, mucking with my gear and one flew up and landed on another stump just 8-10 ft away from me, looked at me with that look for a minute and decided to take a nap :D

Glad the pictures bring back good memories.

Actually I had seen the snowy a bit earlier and did my usual routine that I use when I'm alone. Basically I try to entertain the snowy by singing and dancing my way to a place where I can get a pictures. After I took some pictures and talked to it for awhile the snowy flew south along the beach. I watched it go down the beach there were other people about 1/2 mile down the beach.

The snowy turned and flew back up toward me and I took quite a few pictures until it flew back over to the dune close to where I first saw it. I took a few more pictures before saying good bye and going down the beach leaving the snowy in the dunes. If you have interest in seeing the other pictures, you can click on the link for any of the pictures and get to the folder on Smugmug that includes the whole set.

Some are pretty bad.

Beautiful shots Jack, what a nice clear, bright day you got for taking some great pics.

Thank you! I live about two hours from Plum Island so I can pick the days that I go. Then some of those days I'm lucky.
