At least it's front wheel drive.

Dude just woke up and there is snow everywhere.

I know you guys in other parts of the world think we're nuts for celebrating, but it happens once every 10 years here.

Meanwhile, here in more northern mountain country we sit around with sharpened skis with nothing but high pressure and clear skies for the foreseeable future!

stitching pictures together is something i have near zero practice in to be honest. I am not even comfortable blending multiple exposures into one in photoshop! I presume because i have never really been shown how to do it. So for everything i have ever shot, i try to get it in one exposure and be done with it.

simply use the 16-35 you have, if not satisfied, get something faster.

I've backed off astro a bit, too much commitment for me to follow through. You need to find very dark skies and have nice subject matter. The drive is 2-4 hours for me to even attempt, and clouds would mean it's over. I have a family that gets all stressed out if I'm gone like that ;-)a

all the shots and recent talks has made me want this lens now. the size and weight is what's giving me the yellow light.

I wouldn't let the size and weight turn you off from this lens. It's actually light for an f2.8 lens.

Thank you. Yeah the room is poorly designed as a pseudo-conference room. It's very long, not wide, and just awkward for presentations.

It was an adventure. I took more photos this morning before leaving for work. It hasn't snowed here since 1985!

No but I ran around my neighborbood like a child snapping photos lol.

You could legit make snow balls though. It was actually pretty heavy snowfall.... The temperature just went up pretty quickly and melted it off

right on, i didn't know if F4 would stop down enough to get the stars or not! We have super dark skies here in Western New York so it's very easy to walk around and get good shots at night. Especially while camping up in the mountains.

can you see the milky way clear in the sky?

it's kind of hard to judge these things, but in very dark areas, you cant miss the milky way, it's very apparent.
