I just purchased the 5D IV as an upgrade from my 1D IV. I just used it to photograph a family and I expected better colors and skin tones from the 5D. However, there is very little difference between photos from the 1D vs the 5D. Am I missing something? Canon (IMO and experience) has always seemed to be about a third stop overexposed when the settings/exposure was correct in camera. But I truly expected better from the new sensor than from a 7 year old one. Are there settings everyone uses when shooting portraits/models/seniors that result in better (not washed out or pasty) skin tones? Or is this the reason people are moving to Fuji/sony? Any advice would be most appreciated, as I am still learning this camera.
