Here is a few quick questions..

1. Raw compressed or not?

2. Placed another SD card in slot 2. Cannot find on menu how to select how to record to them, like fill 1, them switch to 2, or shoot raw to 1, Jorge to two. I looked carefully through the menus and don’t see that.

3. Absolutely love the EVF, but how do you get it to NOT show the pic u just took in it?

Colby Brown has a pretty good guide setting the A7R iii, https://www.colbybrownphotography.com …out-of-your-sony-a7r-iii/ (external link)
1.) For landscape, uncompressed. Portrait, compressed

2.)The setting you looking for ...
"These settings can be found in the Toolbox Menu Tab on Page 6 under “Rec. Media Setting”.

3.) Not near my camera now, but I think it's somewhere in the playback menu, would be something like do not show review in viewfinder

Great link. Thank you.

Media setting did the trick.

Can’t seem to do found viewfinder, 3 choices, but it either shut off one or the other completely.

In menu; Camera 2, page 7, "Auto Review" - you can select 10 sec, 5 sec, 2 sec and off.

Ok, so hope I’m not being too picky, or maybe I’m just butting up against the way it’s designed. I appreciate being able to turn review off. But what I really want is the pic I just took to show up on the LCD screen, as it always did on my Canon and Nikon gear, but not in the viewfinder.

I’m guessing because it auto senses when you raise it to your eye to shut off LCD, that’s not possible.

Also, what did I change without realizing it so the playback is showing a small pic with info surrounding rather than full size pic

And why when I hit magnify dies it zoom all the way instead of a step at a time?

While I’m at it, I’m being driven even crazier than I am when in the menu, having leafed through to where I want to be, I go out, view a picture, go back into the menu and I’m now completely away from where I left off and am in the playback menu? That is dumb.

In playback mode hit DISP to toggle through the various options to get away from the small pic with info view.

The reason zoom views to 100% is so that you can check critical focus on the focus point quickly I.e you just took a portrait and want to quickly check the eye is in focus with minimal button presses before the scene changes too much. You can zoom slowly with the rear scroll wheel in increments If you have more time.

With regards to image review I believe you are correct, it’s either on or off and it will display in the evf if it detects your eye.

This is based on a7rii use but I think the 3 should be the same
