The edits will still be there. C1 has a catalog, and sessions. You can import into the folder of your choice, just as you would with Lr, but it also keeps track of the "sessions/imports" separately. So if you shoot the same location 5 days in a row, and keep the images in the same named folder, then C1 will still keep them separated by shoot date in it's catalog. So you can either go to the folder to all the images, or the shoot date when looking for specific images.

I'm not a big fan of the sessions, mostly because I'm ignorant of how it works. Not a fan of that folder structure because I can get lost in it, I do keep my structure very lightroomish. If I shoot multiple events same day, I'll import partial then rename, and import again.

I've gotta have dates on my stuff, super readily available, like lightroom. Here's my import preset to make that happen

I use the xrite colorchecker passport system. Tons of videos on YT showing how to make the calibration in LR (it’s super easy).

Ideally you’re supposed to make a new profile for every project, but I just make one in natural light and use it for everything because I never found a huge difference when I made custom profiles on a project-by-project basis.

Macphun did an outstanding job of creating hype for that awful app. I would have titled the software Maximum Candy Saturation Sugar Rush HDR 2018, but I have to admit that “Aurora” sounds a lot catchier...

I think much of Aurora's style is thanks to Trey Ratcliff's influence.

I bought myself an iPad pro because starting today I'm doing IPS(In-Person Sales) for my portraits. The cheapest IPS software shoot and sell apps works only on ipad or android tabs. I bought the 12.9" because i wanna use it as a wacom tablet as well.

First time really using the 24-105 (at 25mm). A few clicks in Smooth-Reflections. Quite a bit
windy even down in the gorge messing with some foliage above the waterfall.

Second shot with no S-R app.

Very nice and sharp Robert. I can't wait to use mine for landscape as well.

Vinz, I carried the 12-24mm down into that pit too. It took my toes an hour to warm up even after the climb back out.

Some images I like, but I will never do anything with them...this is one of those...the sunstar from the CV12 was pretty darn cool...the glancing light off the desert plants and the hints of light on the hills beyond...but by this time the little bit of clouds that were there were gone and the color on the distant mountains had faded...

I am sure I sound like a broken record when it comes to these guys that have really made it...but Trey is really full of himself, I have not been a fan of his imaging style for a long time...but he makes it popular...and people think that if he likes it, it must be good...get on board! I am much more impressed by the work of the folks in this thread than I am of Trey...

I am thinking that 24-105 may be the solution to my "carrying too many lenses" problem. It seems to do well for landscapes. I can leave my primes at home

How is it at 24mm and 35mm? Those are my focal lengths of choice when it comes to landscapes.

Man, with these images with snow and ice in them makes me feel a bit selfish...today I enjoyed a couple of beers on the patio with my neighbor. He was wearing shorts and T-shirt too.

Speaking of neighbor, my neighbor had a pocket watch I wanted to photograph and discovered it was a challenge to show the case open and closed. With the case open, the flash I placed on the right reflected back onto the watch face too much and blocked too much light from the left. I wound up using a flash in a stripbox on the left with an additional diffuser in front of it and my small flash with mini softbox handheld directly from above.

The closed case version was easy enough using that same method.

Beautiful macro work Gene, and you should feel bad....when we got back there was still snow on the roof, 2 inches from the 4 we missed by going north, what irony! Of course we ran into it
up there too and it was a good camping test for the campervan (15F) and driving in the snow...luckily the Promaster chassis is front wheel drive.
