Sorry, I tried a search, and on my phone, it’s hard to find what I need to know.

What rechargeable AA batteries are you all using for speed light work? I have some pretty old Eneloops that work okay, but I need more now since I’m gonna do most of my outdoor shoots with speedlights.

Suggestions?

Bolantej.
I have been getting good results with the White Eneloops and the Powerex Imedion and Powerex. Now Powerex has combined into one, Powerex PreCharged.
Both will hold a charge for close to a year with slight drop off in capacity.
Having 5 Canon 600 EX-RT's and 2 ST-E3 RT's plus 5 Bolt/ Canon External Battery Packs, the batteries multiply. And when shooting a Wedding for example.....backups.

Canon 5D Mark III (x2), BG-E11 Grips, 7D (x2) BG-E7 Grips, Canon Lenses 16-35 f/4 L IS, 17-40 f/4 L, 24-70 f/4 L IS, 70-200 f/2.8 L IS II, 70-200 f/4 L IS, 70-200 f/4 L IS Version II, 100-400 f/4.5-5.6 L IS Version II, TS-E 24 f/3.5 L II, 100 f/2.8 L Macro IS, 10-22 f3.5-4.5, 17-55 f/2.8 L IS, 85 f/1.8, Canon 1.4 Extender III, 5 Canon 600 EX-RT, 2 Canon ST-E3 Transmitters, Canon PRO-300 Printer

Eneloope Pros are it.

Granted, it really depends on what you want out of the batteries. For some, it's number of pops. For others, its recycle time. Or maybe both. Number of flashes to me is not nearly as big of a deal since they're all within 50~60 pops on the top end, but more importantly you see the huge differences in recycle time and that adds up a ton over a shoot to lose that much time (especially in natural light).

Personally, I switched to Lithium speedlites, as I just got tired of having to have tons of AA's and the slow recycle times.

Very best,

I’m Liking the Fujitsu batteries. Had great prices at NewEgg earlier this year. Don’t know if they’re still priced that good now though. Better than amazon at the time.

Actually I’m Careful with Amazon. Prices are all over the place. Getting to be a rip-off if you’re not careful.

I'm feeling better about my Eneloops, but I need more batteries, so I might try the Powerex Pro's as well.

Thanks for the link Wilt.

I know, I was having trouble navigating the results and I was sleepy. ߘ

Likewise, my inventory is mostly fujitsu. Great stuff!

I like Fujitsu Black 2250mAh and Eneloop Pro Black 2250mAh High Capacity. A bit pricier but works great. ;-)a
