They don't hold funds until Item is received by buyer and no grace period before it goes to Pay Pal. When payment is made it goes directly to sellers Pay Pal account. The commission is indeed 13% and the shipping cost is charged also. If I ship on my
own how would e-bay know Item has been received?

I just sold something on there...They kept it in pending for 3 days after the package arrived.

In the payment there's a far-out estimated date for the funds to go through, if you don't ship it through paypal(linking to the purchase on ebay) you won't get it until that date. It was 3 weeks. Once I created the shipping label it dropped to two weeks. Once it arrived it changed to 3 days.

Your funds will be available on: Funds now available*
Per ebay's info tab related to the astrisk.
Congratulations on selling your item!
Well done on selling your item! Although your buyer has paid, your funds will be held for up to 21 days and will be available by Funds now available
To make sure eBay is a safe and trusted marketplace, we implement this common industry practice in some instances such as Limited User History, Past Suspensions, and/ or High Risk transactions.

If a buyer reports a problem with a sale or an item, it may take longer than 21 days to receive your payment. So respond quickly to your buyer to resolve any issues.

How to get your funds faster:
1. Ship quickly after your buyer pays
2. Add tracking details in My eBay under sold items. If you have used eBay to print your label, tracking details will be uploaded automatically

There's a couple of things about ebay.
1st, they hold the funds until after the item arrives at buyer's address. And then there's a grace period before it's released to Paypal. The faster you ship, the faster it'll arrive to you.
2nd, the following month you'll get a bill from Ebay. Last I checked it was 10% of the sale. So for a $3000 sale, you'll get a bill for $300 the following month.
3rd, you'll get a 3% charge from paypal too.

Make sure you price it to cover those charges. Otherwise you might as well wait on here. $2700 much lower than I've seen it on any venue.

That's not how it works. . Perhaps you don't have much experience as a seller on eBay? . I've sold over 500 items there, so I have an accurate idea of how it works.

The funds are released (put into my PayPal account) as soon as the buyer pays for the item.

The eBay commission is taken directly and immediately from the buyer's payment, so I never, ever "get a bill" from eBay for the commission.

.

"Your" and "you're" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"They're", "their", and "there" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"Fare" and "fair" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one. The proper expression is "moot point", NOT "mute point".

You're right I don't sell that much.....And neither has the OP(said he has never).... Someone who hasn't sold an item on there will NOT get the money immediately. I'm not sure why you're trying to discrediting my experience (which happened 2 weeks ago) which will be more like the OP's experience if he decides to take this 1Dc to ebay having not sold on there before.

There must be two E-Bays out there mine works like Tom's payment directly into pay pal account. As far as the commission its
up to you how its paid myself its on a monthly basis thru my visa account. It does pay to ship using e-bay as its discounted.

I'm just interested in getting this camera off the For Sale forum, because I don't want to have a conversation with my wife about that one more thing I need to get for Christmas.

Question. I posted it on Ebay and have received an offer. I had it listed under buy it now but this person made an offer for the same amount. Why would I need to send him my paypal if he can just click "Buy it Now"?

Message: "Hello seller i make offer for your item i want you to accept my offer asap then kindly drop me your paypal email address or send me your paypal payment request to proceed with your payment asap thank You"

Stay away from this, its a scam. If it were real, they would just BIN and pay through eBay using Paypal.

If you do a google search for "Hello seller i make offer for your item i want you to accept my offer asap then kindly drop me your paypal email address or send me your paypal payment request to proceed with your payment asap thank You"

you will see several eBay community posts dealing with similar situations. They are going to try and get you to ship the camera before payment clears.

You may have left the best offer option open in any event the way it works you accept, counter offer or decline offer. The offer
will come thru E-bay and E-bay will forward your decision to the buyer If you accepted offer buyer will be instructed to pay. It
would not hurt to list the E-bay Item number here, patience it will sell on E-bay.

I'm not going to post the link in case OP wants to keep these worlds separated, but easy to find with a "1DC" search, sort by newly listed.

Agree that the BIN email is a scam. Sucks. It should sell though.

Do not, under any circumstance, send a 'buyer' your paypal info. That's a scam. Your buyer should buy it directly through Paypal at time of 'buy-it-now'. Even if you were to sell outside the ebay channel(against Ebay rules) you should be sending THEM a Paypal invoice which would mean you'd be getting their email, not the other way around. The next part in their scam is saying they made a payment and that you will need to show receipt of mailing for the 'money to clear'. It's a fake process and you'll have sent your camera out without payment actually happening.

And for that matter, I'd block that person so they can't buy from you.

I'd buy if I had some cash laying around. ;-)a
