Can you post a link? Every thing I've seen from Roger is he's impressed with the 12-24mm.

It's not fair, really, to compare the 12-24mm to a 16-35mm. Rather, it should be compared against Canon and Sigma's 11-24mm and 12-24mm models. Compared to those Roger finds the Sony 12-24mm to be superior.

But even against the 16-35mm GM he says:

[Source: https://www.lensrentals.com …f2-8-gm-sharpness-tests/] (external link)

Well after shooting a dedicated prime kit for years and a certain unwillingness to go back to any zooms, regardless of manufacture I can say that I am extremely pleased with the Sony 12-24, it's only real drawback is cicular flair and the difficulty in using filters and perhaps build quality/feel if you are used to the metal build of the Loxias, Zeiss, CVs or Leicas, other than that it's a great lens. It's sharper than my CV 12 and CV 15 and my Zeiss 15 ZE and just a bit better than my Leica 16-18-21 Tri-elmar into the corners and can replace all of those primes when I want to reduce the number of lenses I carry, It makes a great pairing with the Loxia 21.

Dave I also agree with you not sure how you can compare the 12-24 and the 16-35GM, they are really two different lenses covering significantly different focal lengths, each has it's strengths and weaknesses.

And realize why you stopped talking to them decades ago.

Bingo!

If I haven’t talked to you in 30 years, chances are I have no interest in speaking to you now.

When FB first came out, our 3 adult children were young children and my wife thought it a good idea that we see what they were up to so set up a page for each of us. I have no friends. I have nothing on my page. I have never had FB on my phone or iPad or computer. My wife has never used it either. But I don’t begrudge anyone who does. To each his/her own.

As for adobe, years ago I too spent 600 to buy PS and subsequently 200 for LR. I then subscribed when they started that. I think I used PS about 3 years ago, maybe once. I barely know how. I Know not how to use levels at all. I use LR and that’s it.

Yeah, I’m not thrilled to keep paying for it, but it does give you the latest greatest constant updates, and two cappuccinos at Starbucks equal the payment, so it’s just another bill on life’s yellow brick road.

But I agree with the poster who stated adobe weaseled their way into his computer that they shouldn’t be allowed to do so. I guess it’s akin to fighting city hall or spittin into the wind or pullin on the mask of the ol’ Lone Ranger. Ya just don’t want to mess with Jim. ;-)a

Travis I considered it and thought it would be implicit in my opening remark "Most folks I've read on here are happy with their CC subscription, I haven't subscribed"

So I think I was looking for feedback from someone in a similar situation to me. I figured most people wouldn't be in a position to help but it seems my anger/frustration at the position Adobe stuck me in angered/frustrated CC happy campers.

What I do baulk at in your reply regarding "If you are so peeved at Adobe......."

Don't be daft. Asking a Scotsman to let a big bully Corp get away with his money <LOL>

I hardly thought it was stupid to say, but ok, I confess, I don'tknow the inner workings of the mind of a Scotsman.

Regarding...”I think you need to find someone with a bit more knowledge about computers than what you have so that they can work on doing your installs and reinstalls,”
Don’t know how you are in a position to say that. Been working with PCs since IBM PC 1981.
I’ve not been ‘upgraded’ to CC that I can see and I’ve subscribed to nothing.

Dude...is your bio and life work and occupation part of a post somehwere that we should know what know about computers? It was an attempt to offer a new suggestion!
Must be more of the Scotsman I don't understand...

Nm....too tired.

Beautiful scene. I think your shot highlights the fact that sometimes long exposures aren't necessary.

Thanks! :-)

Yeah, I'll be the first to admit that I'm guilty of throwing on a 10 stop filter and relying on a slow shutter for a lot of my shots so I was really happy with how that one turned out!

i thought i recognized your user name. you used to post in the hawaii thread :P

don't see why you would need the 35 2.8 unless you want it for the size.
you already have the b25 and 50 1.8. dont think you need the in between. especially for that price lol

if you are just looking to spend money, i have a fund me page.

thanks in advance

Hah! Yeah. Looks like I'll be going back to Hawaii next summer. The wife won a week at a timeshare on Kauai. This time we are going without kids.

I do like the size, but I have the EOS M3 with 22mm f/2 if I want compact 35mm equivalent. Thank, that was the push I needed. I just put the B25 back on the Sony. I'm going to ride with that for a while and see how it goes. I think I just need to spend more time with it.
