Thank you very much guys for all your replies, i appreciate it! after spending all day browsing trough the entire photo thread linked above i'm now convinced it performs very well. Sure it's no 1DX or 1DX2 but those cameras costs a lot more than this puppy. So i caved and placed my order on a used one in mint condition. It should be here on Thursday or Friday if all goes well with the lousy postal service.

/ Magnus

Congrats.... I hope you love it as much as I love mine.

It would be fun if Canon brought back the APS-H with the current technologies available.... a 1DX 2 and 5D IV sensor improvements... but APS-H. Of course, this isn't likely but it would still be fun.

Oh man, that would be great!

Is anyone still using this old workhorse anymore or have you all upgraded to the latest and greatest Canon has to offer ?

.
Magnus,

I still use my 1D4 as my main camera.

I keep looking into other options, but I haven't found anything that I think would be better for less than $1,000 ........ so I'll keep using this body for most of my work until something significantly better drops down to the $600 - $900 range. . Unfortunately, that will probably be a few years.

"Your" and "you're" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"They're", "their", and "there" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"Fare" and "fair" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one. The proper expression is "moot point", NOT "mute point".

I went from 1D4 to 80D. I am happy with the move.
