Here's one from a wedding I did recently. Canon 85MM 1.8. I really like that lens. I use it for all wedding portraits.

Jack from Brewery Coffee, part of my one shot series I'm working on. We set up and work the shot before we press the shutter, and only take one.

Very cool! Is this a thread somewhere? I think it would be cool to see (great photos and mistakes).

Thanks. Not yet I've only done a handful so far but hoping to have enough over the next year to display. The hard part is to be brave with the shot something I'm hoping to get more towards as things progress, so there will probably be a few missis in there too. There are more on my instagram under the tag #oneshot but that tag is lightly to change soon.

In the end, though, aren't you just saying I'm going to shoot digital like it had never been invented ... just like all the very many people who continue to shoot film.

I'm not knocking what you are doing. I'm greatly in favour of any approach that stands up against 'spray and pray'. More forethought and fewer shots will undoubtedly result in better images.

But why not just pick up an AE1 and work with that?

David.
Comment and (constructive) criticism always welcome.

Well I have film cameras too but the process is digital these days for most photographers and the camera or medium really is not important here. The whole premise is to really think about what you want and try to set up the fine details of the shoot. To truly direct the scene, move things about, add or remove clutter, lighting, pose the subject and only when you are sure click the button and no retakes allowed. For me it's a good personal project to help grow and improve. Plus I'd rather pickup a GW690 if I was going to get a camera to shoot this series with ;-)a
