I second what Paul says, but do you know what the first bird is carrying in its beak, Bjarne? Doesn't look like a bee to me!

Fantastic images of a beautiful bird, congratulations.
Happy New Year,
Paul

Thanks for the praise words and happy new year to you as well! It is soil from the nesting hole, the first one has in its beak...;o)

Don't judge this one too harsh, camera has 1 inch sensor.

Did anyone say Gannets??

This and the adjacent rock are home to some 6000 (approx 10% ) of the world's Australian Gannet population!!!

Interesting..., the worlds largest population of Northern Gannets (150.000) live on Bass Rock near the Scottish coast. Unfortunately I only have a photo taken with cell-phone..., would love to visit that island with my camera....

I take it this is north of Sacramento. I was hoping I wouldnt have to make the long trip and would manage staying closer to home at the merced nwr. Oh well.

Yeah, it's about an hour and a half from Hercules, and since its about an hour from my house to my mom's house in Sunnyvale, it would be about a 2.5 hour drive for you, which could be painful I know. -?
