Hi again, it's me.. :)

After having spent a month with this camera i sadly had to return it to the store from where i bought it. The problems mainly with it's autofocusing and general incosistency made it a unreliable tool to work with. I just can't have a camera which i can't trust , even my old 1Ds Mark II was more reliable than this one and that camera was pretty bad but atleast it nailed focus.

So i'm back to square one again and still looking for a new primary camera. Sigh..

Thanks for your help and support during the time i visited your thread. See you guys around on the forum.

/ Magnus

Sorry you got a dog. Major bummer. If mine failed, I'd get another 1D4 without hesitation... so that's my recommendation :)

(well, when the 1DX hits ~$1100 for a beat up one, I'll switch :P )

Sorry to here that. It is a great body. I have enjoyed mine for many years and I still shoot it along side my 1DX Mark II.

Thanks!

Yes it sucked i had to return it to the store, but having to fight with a camera just to get in focus shots is not the way to do this. It will attract too much attention from the actual photography process and instead force me into trying to get the camera to work for me.

If it weren't for these issues i would have kept it as it was a nice and fast camera to work with, but it pleases me to see you guys are able to use it both as primary and secondary cameras.

I'll be dropping by this thread from time to time to check out your photos. :)

Glad you're rocking with the 1D3 -- such a great body, and the image feel is unique and awesome.

The ONLY autofocus deficiency I've seen with my 1D4 is that it is not performing the miracles that the 1D3 does in low light. Luckily, that's very low % of my shots.

For sports, my 1D4 is at least as good as my 1D3. My keeper rate is absolutely improved on the 1D4, but I'm also still gaining skill as a shooter, let's just say it's at least as good as the 1D3.

Wait, the 1d3 performs better in low light?

The autofocus does. Not image quality. The low light AF is impressive on the 1D3 by any standards.

Hey, let's see your 1D4's and their pics!

Let's seem them and the pics they're producing!

My 1D4 is still producing successful images, and I have not yet seen the necessity of upgrading to a newer body (well, at least not until the newer bodies like the 1Dx and 5D4 drop down to about $1,000 and $1,300, respectively).

Two 1D4 pics that are on the newsstands now:

.

"Your" and "you're" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"They're", "their", and "there" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"Fare" and "fair" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one. The proper expression is "moot point", NOT "mute point".
