You've got to learn your way around the sky. Get a book called Turn Left at Orion and spend time learning waypoints and how to locate things in the sky. It will make your time with tele lenses and telescopes much more enjoyable.

exactly !! :-)

this is what I told him in one of his other threads. Learning to star hop is an essential skill for the amateur astronomer :-)
ya just have to get to know the sky.
Put the telescope away and just use eyes with occasional binocular help
