5D4 image playback question

It offers me the choice of choosing playback from the CF card which has RAW on it or the SD card which has jpg on it.

Which would you choose and why?

I'd choose the card that has the images I want to look at.
Note that if you record video, it will always end up on the selected card.

I would record video to the faster of the two cards (typically the cf but not always). Just hit the Q button on the display and it will show if card 1 or 2 is the preferred card. Change with main dial.

Stills or video? Actually I think the 5DIV does what is called Motion JPEG or MJPEG.

Doesn't matter, the camera shows you the same embeded JPEG thumbnail either way, even if you only shoot in RAW. Also, that JPEG is affected by your picture style settings. I like to set picture style to Neutral because it seems to be closest to reality in terms of clipping highlights.

In theory I suppose you could set it to the faster card, but I don't think it would ever make a real world difference for image playback.
