Out of curiosity, why 1/3200s shutter speed? Was it to add intentional noise for texture? Looking at the shutterspeed and iso values, the amateur in me would have tried to shoot this below iso 800 whenever possible, but I'm likely missing some technical aspect.

Hi all.

I've recently read this whole thread, reading with keen interest possible thinking about buying later this year (I like to get my research in early!!).

Never thought I'd hear myself say this but I think I'm keen on the whole bokeh, arty, film type look, all before sharpness. I feel the need for something a little different. Also, I love the look and size of the lens which is a big thing for me.

I've been reading all about the many querks and focusing challenges!

I have a 5D3 so I expanded my search a little further to see if I could find any other 5D3 + 50L experiences. Most interesting one was this, where someone starting off with all the outer focus points being out, then sending into canon, on second round of calibrating, success....

Thought I'd share in case anyone is interested.

I have had the 50L for a few years and never had any of the problems I read about for years before just buying it. I started out with it on the 5D3 and later that year got the 5D4. It performs great on both. I have also used it with an adapter on the Sony A7R ii. I suggest not worrying about all the negative stuff about it on the internet. It will paralyze you. Buy it somewhere you can return or exchange it and you’re golden.
