I love both Waikaremoana and Shine Falls. Don't go often enough to either though. I'm in Hastings.

Canon EOS 70D: added a Canon M5: A mixture of Canon, Sigma, Tamron and Tokina prime and zoom lenses, a Samyang fisheye, and just for fun a couple of Helios 44-2 58m..

Waterfall is obscured by an uninteresting large rock in the foreground. Elevating the camera by about a foot and moving it closer to that rock would have helped a lot. IMHO of course.

I kinda disagree. The rock is actually fascinating with the growth on it from the moisture/mist provided by the waterfall. I am looking at the picture from a different perspective, trying to take in the entire scene, not just the waterfall.

Thanks -
Justin

The intent was to let the large rock in green dominate the foreground while still leaving room for the two cascades on the background. Of course YMMV
