Still haven't tried smooth reflections yet. I still just drop in a 15 stop, plus whatever grad, and likely a CPL. My to-do list is as long as my memory for it is short. -?

So I finally got around to doing something I've been meaning to do for quite a while now. . . . . .

did you sew that by hand? I am actually doing the same thing but for a different purpose and instead of sewing the ends I was planning to use those permanent bonding glues for the whole length of the strap. you think this would work?

My submission for the 52 week challenge. Except for the monitor, the room was dark.

I don't need the walker or the cane right now and I didn't have a bulky sweater to wear so my jacket had to do. :-)

Yeah, sewed by hand, it seemed like too much work to dig out the sewing machine and try to get the strap to stretch into it. Personally, I don't think I'd rely on a fabric glue for any sort of strap.

Here's a behind the scene look at my high tech setup for shooting hummingbirds using off camera flash. :-) Nissin Di700A in a strip box camera left fired by the Nissin Air Commander. I have the strip box aimed to the left of the feeder to catch them in flight.

The one thing I might change is to get a feeder with no perches to make it easier to get those HIF (hummers in flight) shots. I'll also add more flowers to attract the birds and to give me a bit more variety for a background I hope.

Gene, you can use a passion fruit tree. I have a few of them, yet to get a hummer on a flower. It's a really amazing sight to have them sipping from passion fruit flowers.

Those are certainly bizarre looking flowers. My neighbor had one for awhile but it didn't make it one cold winter. Me, I have a brown thumb and only wish hummers were attracted to cactus. :-) I do plan on visiting my local nursery for suggestions on recommended flowers for hummers I can get for this area. Thanks for the suggestion.

Gene, we have hibiscus in the backyard and birds of paradise in the front; I regularly see hummingbirds around them. I don't do anything to them other than the automated watering twice a week.

was trying to do long exposures .. but the wind was not helping .. my tripod is only a mefoto "road trip" travel tripod .. and the winds were pretty brutal..
pretty cold too..
the original intention was to wait for it to be a bit darkder and see if i could get 20 or maybe even 30 seconds.. but i couldn't even get sharp photos at 5 seconds due to winds ..

next time i encounter this will try shorter times but more photos and attempt stacking

I hope no one is tired of seeing hummingbirds yet. Here's one more from this morning. I'm also including a closeup of this shot showing his droopy eyelid.

EDIT: That's my strip box reflected in his eye too.
