These quite gorgeous Eastern Sedge Frogs are 20-25mm long (approx. 1 inch in imperial units).

Taken at night in the Roma Street Parklands using diffused OCF (Canon Speedlite 600 EX RT)

Cheers

Dennis

Australian life...cyclists seem to get some respect from people in motor vehicles.

As a bikist I can promise you we don't. Even those of us who don't ride three abreast in the middle lane.

As a driver and a pedestrian (and occasional cyclist) I can confirm they don't.

Stunning!

Thanks I had a Canon 12mm Extension Tube fitted between the 5D Mk IV and the EF x1.4 Mk III Extender / 100-400 Mk II zoom.

I used a monopod to hold the OCF over the frogs to try to obtain that soft, wrap around lighting. The frogs were some 1.5 to 2 metres away and I was on an elevated boardwalk trying not to overbalance and fall into the pond.:-)

Cheers

Dennis

Interesting tree. The trunk looks like a bottle.
Thanks for posting.

The cyclists seemed to get a lot more respect then in the USA :-)

Not sure if they are the same thing as the banana benders have but us Sandgropers know them as Boab trees.

Apologies, didn't realise you're a sandgroper. Boabs and bottle trees look similar and are in the same plant family but are different species. Boabs in Oz's north-west, bottle trees in the north-east.
