I imagine that many of you knife aficionados own an Emerson La Griffe, so I didn't even take it out of the sheath.
However, it allowed me to post something other than a knife as a focal point.
I'm very much enamored by this small titanium whistle .... which is made by the WE Knife Company.

very cool little whistle, reminds me of the Atwood ones.

I actually don't own a LaGriffe (either Perrin custom or Emerson)
do my Spyderco S.P.O.T. count as a similar item ?

As well as being a fine image, that is one nice Spyderco. One heck of a conversation starter too.
S30V, right?

The Captain and crew finally got their stuff together, now if we can only remember where we left it.

I've also been eyeballing that knife for a long time. Like you, I should just cave-in and push the 'buy' button !

Yes, it's a Taichung blade; quality fit and finish.

I've never owned a Taichung-made Spyderco, but they are very, very nice.

I agree with Frank, the light gives it both texture and depth. Good looking blade too. :-)
