I have no idea. I still want this lens. But, $1,600 --- ![]() I went through this too. Never used my 85 1.8 because I didn't trust it. My 85 now almost never leaves my camera. I am really digging this lens. May be the first time i have ever gotten a lens and been blown away by it. Image hosted by forum (893603) © huntersdad [SHARE LINK] THIS IS A LOW QUALITY PREVIEW. Jan 05, 2018 17:33 | #38 Just got my lens in today. Haven't had a change to MFA yet. Here are some very quick shots I did of my dog who did not appreciate being woke up from her nap. I hope to get some better shots this weekend, and put it through its paces. I have to say though, I would never have gotten these shots 1/30 and 1/40 of a second without the IS. These were shot in a dimly lit bedroom with the only light being the window light from camera right. This first shot my dog probably was about 2 - 2.5 feet from the background. #1 at about 95% cropIMAGE LINK: https://flic.kr/p/DyZHHe #2IMAGE LINK: https://flic.kr/p/F65YpS #3IMAGE LINK: https://flic.kr/p/21RCXV2

scobols Goldmember More info | Jan 12, 2018 08:14 | #41 I pulled out the 85 at a HS gymnastics meet yesterday (too close to use the 200 or 135) and was very pleased with the results. Autofocus was fast and spot-on. Note: These are cropped. Scott

Jan 14, 2018 01:26 | #44 Had a chance to use this lens today while we were out celebrating my granddaughter's birthday. Don't judge the quality of the shots too much, because the lighting here was awful. All different kinds of neon lights continually changing brightness. Here are a couple of candid shots I was able to get, and the focus was spot on. IMAGE LINK: https://flic.kr/p/2263tzt

Only advantage of the 1.2 is that you can shoot at 1.2. For everything else, the 1.4 is just as good if not notably better. Yes, my doubt stems from this.
