Sharing with you guys/gals a strange site in TN. One of the largest birds in n.America. Found several hundred in the Hiwassee NWR
when looking for cranes last week. Forgot the details ' American white pelican about four feet tall and has a wingspan of about nine feet.'

I pulled out my little Canon S100 P&S last night. I need to get in a decent setting to compare it to my phone, but I love the form factor and it's a slightly better sensor I think. While I had it out, I did a "family portrait"

"If This Tree Could Talk"

I can only imagine the stories this tree could tell of the church in the background and of the people from its past. Shot taken at Mission San Juan in San Antonio.

Looks like you grabbed it. I would love to hear how you like it. I almost bought one last year. I love the silver metal ring on the front. Looks old school. Very shallow, I know. Lol

Hopefully you're referring to the Zeiss 35mm f2 ZE lens. If so, yep I sure did. I like the look of the lens too like you. I'll keep you posted on how it performs.

I love the composition of this shot Alfredo. I see no hint of the modern world in it either. I wish I could find similar settings anywhere near me.

Thanks Gene. I tried hard to remove those modern distractions. Well, you need to come visit. Lots to see and photograph here if you like history and architecture.

Nice capture of one of the world’s crappiest birds. Admittedly they have some aesthetic appeal regardless of their awful disposition. They’re bluebird killers, which makes me really despise them.

That background (a holly shrub or tree?) is particularly pretty.

Thanks David. The Starlings come every now and then to visit...when they do they come in numbers and the other denizens just scurry off until
the Starlings are done......well until the hawk comes in for his chicken dinner then the Starlings too vacate quickly.
We have 8 small nesting boxes and I've seen the Bluebirds drive off the Tree Swallows even after they are established. Just two days ago Poof watched
mortal combat between two Carolina Wrens-one killing the other right before Poof's eyes/less than five feet away. I had to collect the body from the screened in porch and the gashes inflicted impressed me. It's a bird eat bird world out there.

To my loss I fail to check Flickr Explore very often. It’s a shame because there is some amazing photography exhibited in Explore daily. Our FM friend Bastian had the first place Explore the other day. And ninth in today’s Explore is a fellow a7R II photographer who does amazing work with his CV 12mm, Batis 18mm, FE 55mm, and FE 70-300mm.

This is not his current Explore, just a really nice street shot with the FE 55mm: https://flic.kr/p/YEkVm7 (external link)

I am definitely looking forward to following his work; he’s really motivating me to use my CV 12mm more.

Love the first one most Vinz.
On the bird, most (read Davids opinion) wouldn't call a Starling a great catch!
But wish me luck....headed out for another weekend trying for a Short-eared.
I've got two days to get the camper ready for travel on Friday.
Put the 16-35/4 on the FM buy/sell. Collected dust post 12-24 and 24-105.
