Anyone itching for the FE 24-105? I'm interested in it as a suitable lens for travel.

Last major travel outing I did zooms and primes... kind of a mixed bag, any hint that I might shoot low light, zoom stayed home/Airbnb. I did very little tripod work, couldn’t find any alone time!

Question was this shot bracketed or a single shot?

that's a 9 exposures auto bracketing then processed the HDR in LR. i would not do that now though. i would either do 1 single exposure only and meter for the bright area or i'll do light painting.

this pic below is single exposure. i just metered on that bright window.

Sounds good sir. I need to make it over to Goliad and shoot there. Thanks for the reminder. Also, I may be shooting more of the missions here in town. There is a potential business opportunity to shoot the missions for a group of architects in charge of preserving them. Sounds interesting for sure.

there is a workaround for the CV 40/1.2- there is an M mount version.

im about 40 pages Into the 60 odd page thread but it seems the m mount version performs poorly on Sony bodies compared to the e mount. Plus I really can’t be bothered with the faff of a Techart adaptor

The cv 40 piqued my interest too. But as a general purpose focal length that I'd probably use a lot for family stuff, I'd prefer AF.

Is it possible to talk about photography without having a GAS flare up? I’m weak. I just got the FE 35 f/2.8. I love it, it’s a great walk around lens. But man I miss 1.4. Then I come here and you are all talking about 35/40mm lenses. Then I get an email from PayPal about 24 months financing! I saved a ton of money when I took a week to stop all the spam email I was getting from Best Buy et al.

I’m fighting the urge for a new 35/1.4. That big Sony looks awesome. The 35L II looks awesome. The 35 Art looks awesome and would work on both cameras. Then I look in my lens cabinet and it’s full. What is wrong with me?!?!?!

techart + filter correction..... quite the excercise. Is it worth the trouble? no. If you could buy the complete package.... ugh yeah, it's pretty darn nice these days. I was planning to do some travel this year, but not sure anymore. My #1 must have lens would be the CV 35 + techart + filter fix. filter fix will take 4-6 weeks for supply!!! I'm just more careful when shooting group shots, avoiding the outer edges and I'm fine.

As far as I can tell, the CV 40 is a different beast, it looks to have fairly smooth bokeh like the 35, not as sharp (and I'm fine with it). If it had eye AF, I think I'de be all over it.... maybe. Really wish it was 35 f1.2 instead, I like a clear distinction between 35 and 50.

I dont hear much talk anymore of the abilities of the 24-70 GM in regards to landscape. Has anyone here used it and also the Loxia 21?

I am not so much gassy as I am wanting to clean up and simplify the lens switching. That Laowa 15 has me very intrigued. So much That I could see my gear going

A9/A7rII - Laowa 15 - FE 24-70GM - 100-400GM (w 1.4x) And that is my primary with legacy lenses for a 85 1.4 and 90 2.5 macro.

Selling the CV 10 - Loxia 21 - FE 28/2 - FE 55 1.8 - and FE 90 Macro to purchase the 15 and 24-70 .... I think that is about par.

My biggest concerns are that i think the Lox 21 is the best landscape lens and I do like my shots with the cv10. But man that would be so much cleaner.

Any thoughts on the 24-70 vs the Lox?

Looks like a cool way of blending 3 exposures instead of HDR

I just ordered this from Jimmy McIntyre just before Christmas. Love the masking, haven't tried the blending as yet.
