Payed off the Best Buy card, so what better way to treat myself, than to rack it back up a little!
Now, if I can just find some time to go out and shoot!! [Sigh]

Yes! Two excellent choices. Mark Galer called the 85/1.8 Sonys product of the year--over the Riii/a9/etc.

Vinz thanks for that last video tutorial! I went through it, loved it, subscribed.
Very simple/fast/fun.
So deep into the archives for this outtake that never made the cut for Flickr because
I didn't think it was interesting enough.
So here it is after Apply Image. Thinking of Gene BBQ'ing with the Anna's in the background just know that
it was warmer in Iceland when I got this image than it was at my house all day today :)

Nice! I’m intrigued by the Apply Image as well. Looks very cool.

Is it time for IV of this lounge? 700 pages and 10,500 posts!

Kind of a sad image lens wise. I just shipped off the 16-35/4. Sold quickly via FM.
It served me very well on several continents/too many trips to count, but the FE24-105
is within 99% of the 16-35/4 to my eye and the obvious extra mm's. On the other side
I've got the 12-24mm so the house has been thinned again.

Another consideration for both you and Travis is to wait just a bit more and see if we don’t see a native Sigma 35 1.4 announced soon. If they do, and it has a 67mm filter thread, I’d be tempted to consider switching.

Have ya'll seen that teaser photo on the sar admins IG? If this is the 35, it looks like it could be a similar size of the FE55 based on the size of the mount relative to the barrel. Probably an F2.

If they make it f/2 and make it sharp at f/2, sigma could scratch a major itch that zeiss and sony have thus far failed to address

I just scanned Guy's Big Bronco test of the 24-105 at FM.
Seems Sony has done the 12-24 just 24-105 IQ wise.
It's a wonderful time when zooms are actually beating primes.

Looks like a cool way of blending 3 exposures instead of HDR
http://www.shutterevolve.com …ending-using-apply-image/ (external link)

check this guy too. my new favorite in youtube.

I just ordered this from Jimmy McIntyre just before Christmas. Love the masking, haven't tried the blending as yet.

I agree Unmesh is definitely a PS Guru, learned quite a bit from him..

Another one to watch is Jesús Ramirez ~ PS Training Channel

As far as I am concerned, Jimmy's blending method is my favorite... Following him along time, have several of his tuts as well.

He has his new software coming out Feb 28th.

What interested me with Aurora was its Luminosity masks, however when the finally updated Aurora 18 they only included midrange, no highlight and shadows.. Why even update Aurora with a Luminosity mask option only allowing you to adjust midrange.. They work backwards.. Aurora 17 has the complete Luminosity mask option. Go figure. I guess they will add the shadows and highlights eventually.. A18 was and still is not ready, however it has potential.

Agree, just have to get a good copy of the 12-24 .. add to that your 100-400 GM makes for a nice zoom kit.

A few primes for specialty work.. A good time to be into photography.

Charlie don't you think Sigma has seen the Sigma light shining at the end of the CaniKon switchers and has been
prepping many e-mount lenses.
I'd hope it had been Tamron, just better experiences with Tammies in the past, but my memory was jaded by early
Sigmas---with the 120-300 being an exception and the 35ART I still have (somewhere).
Of course for my interests/style I'd be hoping for an e-mount long lens of 400 and up but I think Sigma is market focused
and not niche focused so the small and wide will be the first out.
