I have to work my primary job in Real Estate Development to pay the bills but I dont like it and it is not my passion. I am only good at it because I am stubborn. So this year I was going to focus on more picture taking and more of what I was taking pictures of. I wanted to build on my friendships that have me travelling and taking pics and the new camper and just was really going to push myself. The start of the year was supposed to be Bosque Del Apache a winter bird resting area about 7 hours away in NM and in the loop hit Three rivers petroglyphs and White Sands. Then last weekend I was to go to Death Valley have a Tab Trailer event this coming weekend and am trying to plan the year. But life is not always easy and I usually have to battle to do things I want to do. So over the holiday I got Strep Throat..... then I passed a kidney stone...... then a little over a week ago I found out that the nasty mole I had was really nasty and I have an advanced aggressive Melanoma. That sorta reset everything and started in motion a bunch of crap trying to get into docs and get tests.... Things were going really bad but the company I work for used to own two hospitals so I started using our connections.... long story short this will be a much more productive week. New Oncologist Monday and hopefully a Lymph surgery by the end of the week. Prognosis is undefined but promising. I decided to tell you all not for anything other than I do consider all of you friends and value your input on my photog ventures. I still plan on getting my original goals done this year. I hope you will all push me on that. I am getting out tomorrow and hope to have "something old" in for the weekly challenge. Thanks for all you guys share it is a great outlet to come here.. learn and see what your all doing. Sh!t man sorry to hear that. There are no words for something like cancer, but best of luck on your treatment. Photography for me has been a nice distraction when everything is terrible.. The process of taking photos also focuses on actively trying to find the good in life when everything else is going badly, so it can be very therapeutic. So cancer sucks, but keep at the photography! focalpointsphoto.com
