(Posted on FM too)

I just received a Desmond L Plate DAL-1 (external link) for my Mark2 (I had been using a generic small (non-L) plate - had to cut it down a bit for the battery cover)

Desmond L Plate DAL-1
Arrived in 5 days, $20
Arca-Swiss compatible L plate. 39mm wide. 4 safety stop screws.
1/4"-20 screw with 4mm hex & flat head slot. includes 2 allen wrenches.

Fits well and doesn't add much to the dimensions, solid feel - the only comments were that since there is no rim, it can rotate. I put some Gecko Strips between the camera and plate and it's now pretty firmly held in place. Will see how it does in the field but it's very hard to move now. The screen can open almost all the way but no tilting is possible with this style of L bracket ( so no using the cute "Selfie Assist Mode :( ) . The side opening allows all cables to connect except the USB at the bottom. I don't need direct USB connection (use the iPhone remote app) and don't worry much about audio on my video, but the mic and headphones are accessible . I do sometimes use the HDMI out for reviewing on hotel TVs when I'm on the road, so that's cool.

A few pics below for anyone interested
